11:11 PM Okay everyone, we are now holding a contest! There are three parts involved. First, we are asking for people to make an advertisement for us. You must make sure to abide by copyright rules, and can use the text that we are currently using (the Arabian Nights story) or make up your own text. We need ads for both HTML and Proboards, and the best ad in both categories will get +1 defense point to the character of their choice! The second part of this contest also involves advertising. Whoever can advertise in the most places in the before February 1 will get +2 defense points to the character of their choice! MAKE SURE TO FOLLOW ALL ADVERTISING RULES POSTED ON THE SITES YOU ARE ADVERTISING ON! Links must be provided for each site, and please try to only post your sites that you’ve visited once per day. Finally, we are having a recruit-a-friend contest. For each one of you that brings in a new person, we will award +1 defense point for a maximum of +2 defense points per character. So if you bring 3 friends, we’ll give you 3 points to scatter amongst your characters. Please note, your friends must play actively for at least 1 month before we award these points. One simple way to recruit people is to make sure when you post your ads to say "Shannon referred me" etc so they know to give you credit for the recruitment when joining. THE FIRST TWO CONTESTS WILL END ON FEBRUARY 1ST. ALL ENTRIES MUST BE IN BEFORE THEN TO BE CONSIDERED. The recruit-a-friend event will go on until March 1st. In general news - Please remember to respond to the activity check! Okay so it’s a bit late but I posted up the foal stats on the breeding board and on your territory boards. Register your foal names on the ooc board as soon as possible to make sure they get added to our database. Also, stallions need to turn in herd stats that are up to date asap. 6:24 PM PAPRU will resume for the final rounds once we have heard back who is active or not. Since the deadline was only responded to by one, I will continue the PAPRU with all remaining contestants that replied in a reasonable amount of time. Foals are due tomorrow. Individual stats will be posted on both the breeding board and the respective territories of the herd. Congrats to everyone expecting and hopefully the arrival of your foals will breathe some life into things. Please respond to the OOC foal names thread with both stats and names to have your foals added to our names directory. And finally, our MOTM and COTM (though late) are - KittyKat for Member of the Month, and Nightfyre for Character of the Month! Congrats and keep up the good work. And the winner will receive two (2) defense points for battling, a personalized picture, 6 Bella Sara card codes (www.bellasara.com) and either a custom foal (for mares) or custom territory (for stallions). Those still in the running include: Fading Darkness, Dead, Esperanza, Phantom of the Opera, Seeker, and Nimue. 8:18 AM So guys, the reason I haven’t been around over the last few weeks… my grandpa had a procedure where they had to stop his heart and “reset” it… and the procedure went okay but he ended up having a heart attack that night and so we’ve been in and out of the hospital. To make matters busier, last week was finals week and… I graduate with my bachelors from UNLV on Tuesday, and my movers came on Friday and took all my furniture (including my computer) because I will be moving to Virginia on the 22nd. Anyway, exciting news, and Grandpa pulled through so he’s going to be fine, but that should at least give you some insight into my busy life right now :) Ok so new news… as you see, the member of the month is Edo, and the character of the month is Kitty played by Kanina. Read more about them on the “Featured” page. Also, since we’ve been open 3 months now its time for our “quarterly” awards. These awards are only given every 3 months so its extra special when you get one. First, Massie (Fading Darkness, Mahla, Dark Rose, Fatal Goodbye, Nightwish, The Tide) receives the Most Improved award! Eileen (Ember, Falyn) receives our Best Advanced RP award. Domino/Nestle get the Best Layout award for the matching layouts for Roswell and Rhyder. And finally, Edo gets the Best Personalization award for the picture she made for Fading Darkness. If you want to read more about them and to see the spangly picture awards, you can either view “Featured” or “Awards”. We take nominations for all awards, so if you know someone that you think should receive one, please send me an email and let me know! 10:14 AM In other news, the Cause has started once more! This time, it is headed by Shirahime Syo, played by the fabulous Edo. Unlike other versions, in this version, the Cause will claim a land so you can challenge for their land, and Syo has decided on Rose Meadows in the North. For those of you that don't know what the Cause is, it is a band of rebel mares, with no stallion, led by none other than an Alpha mare. This mare cannot be challenged for her position, just like a stallion... she will fight like a stallion, claim like a stallion, and is a MAIN character. 12:00 AM Finally, we have two new deputy admins. Though Terris, Sez, and I do our best, we cannot always run everything alone. Big news for me... I will be moving at the end of Dec and might be without internet for about 2 weeks, so its the perfect time to get a few more hands on board. Edo and Eileen are the Deputy Admins, and they need to be listened to and treated with respect. As with all of our admins, both will be fair and will not give preference to any player over another. 9:33 AM So big news: our first PAPRU has begun! To start the PAPRU, please see the thread in the Haven. You have until midnight on Wed, Nov 19 to post if you want to participate. Please remember that you do not have to participate but the winner will get some fabulous prizes. We have provided a walk through under Tutorials on the Other section, that explains how the PAPRU works. If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to ask on the Ask Shadow board and we will get back to you very soon. Also, Sedona is currently working on a new layout for Version V. 2:30 PM Second, we will be performing an activity check on the ooc board for the next week. If you do not respond, your chars will be marked as inactive, and one month later, we will remove them from our roster entirely. All horses marked as inactive after the activity check will be removed from herds/lands. Third, we have a poll up regarding new territories on ooc... make sure to vote, as your voice will make a difference. Fourth(ly?), the PAPRU is coming! Anyway. Welcome, welcome, welcome! I'm glad to see that Terris, Terry, and Ashlen have returned to us, and a special welcome to Nestle and Domino. I'm sure you guys will fit in great here :) Big-ish news. AN is going ad-free. Well, not completely ad-free, but by Friday we should have all ads gone from the following boards: Mares Acres, Stallion Acres, The Haven, Challenging, Stealing and OOC. Since these are the boards with the most traffic, I thought it'd be appropriate. The MA board is already done, and will remain ad-free until we get 5,000 hits. Lets go ahead and make that our goal!
