Who owns it? The game was created by Sedona and in 2008, was reopened with co-owner Shannon. Can I co-own it with you? Please? Unfortunately, the answer is probably no. The current high level staff are trusted friends who know all the ins and outs of the game, have played with us since the beginning, and know us personally. Wow! I LOVE AN! It's such a great RPG! Will you make me one/a layout? Once again, thank you - I get asked this question a lot, and the answer is always no. AN takes me about 48 hours a week to run - including role play with a main character/s, design, updates, coding, sorting out problems, refereeing, checking messages, replying to emails and so on....hehe I barely have time for anything else :) Can I use the same idea as AN for my RPG? This is a toughy. Look, you need to original with your ideas - you don't need the exact same context as AN to have a great RPG. Heck, AN started out as a little 5 board RPG... Will you personalise a picture for my characters? You can visit our studio and request a picture, or can look at some of the studios that we affiliate with. I own an RPG and I would really like it if you could look at it and tell me what you think. Would you? If I get time I will, but only on special request. I've seen someone who's stolen something off Arabian Nights! What do I do? You post the URL of the site on the OOC board and alert the staff to it. Please don't take matters in to your own hands as we can sort it out.
Can I join Arabian Nights as a breed of horse that is NOT Arabian? No - Arabian Nights is strictly for Arabians with the mild exception in some cases. There is 'dirty blood' present due to specified events, (mustang x arabian) and occassionally under special circumstances ADVANCED players may be permitted to tweak this law Ok, so I've joined.....now what? When you've posted all the required stats for both your character and yourself - now you need to head off to the Mares Acres to be claimed. Impressions can mean a lot here, so be original and broad minded in your posts. Someone's stolen my characters name! First of all, this is the reason we have the character database. Did you remember to register when you joined? Politely inform them that the name is taken and advise that they change it a little so it's not the same. If they refuse, please come and ask one of the staff on the OOC board to attend to the situation. How many characters can I join? As many as you can actively handle Would it be better if I joined a stallion or a mare? It's up to you - we're pretty even on both sides so it doesn't matter. Do I have to post "Player Stats"? Yes, you do. What do they mean?
Claiming QuestionsWhat's this claiming business? The process of a stallion 'courting' a mare with the intention for her to join his herd.Well, duh! What are your claiming rules? Well, you should have read the rules page shouldn't you? ;] To sum it up, a mare doesn't have to go with the first stallion to approach her, and more than one stallion can approach you at one time.
Challenging QuestionsThat evil Khan person cancelled my challenge! WHY!? That evil Khan person is an RP horse, and he is the battlemaster, and knows what he's doing. You have probably broken a rule, and Khan will usually tell you what you did wrong. Mistakes are VERY occassionally made, so be civil about it if it happens.Who plays Khan? Terris How come I have to wait so long 'til my next battle? Because you have been injured in your previous fight. You shouldn't have to wait any longer than 10 days at the most, which is rare. Can I refuse/withdraw from a battle? Yes, but it just means that you automatically lose. I was away when someone challenged me! What do I do? Well, if you posted that you were away on the OOC board, your territory board and even the fight board then the challenge is cancelled. If you failed to post anywhere - no matter the circumstances, then the challenge is valid. How many challenges can I make? 3 per character, per week depending on your characters current health points.
Stealing QuestionsSomeone is using a reeeeeeally hard code and I can't crack it! It's not fair! There are restrictions on codes, and most people know them. They are posted at the top of the board. Also, a staff member will always be on the lookout, checking postsWhy do I have to reveal the way I hid my steal if it's successful? This is to eliminate any claims that the steal was unfair. It will be judged as valid or invalid. Someone stole my mare! When can I get her back? You may challenge for her after two days, or steal her back after 2 days. Can I sneak a whole herd? No I was away when someone stole my mare/herd! The same applies for the fighting rule. If you posted it around the site that you were going to be away then the steal is invalid. If you didn't then the steal is complete How long do I have to wait until a steal is successful? 3 days (72 hours) if it isn't stopped and then you must reveal how you hid the steal to be assessed by a staff member to avoid conflict.
OOC Fighting QuestionsSomeone is being mean to me/calling me names/yelling at me! What do I do? You come straight to the AN staff on the HELP board.How do you solve problems on the site? If it is player related, the person is asked to calm down, explain the situation and then is resolved based on what has been said. Do you ban people on AN? And for what reasons? Yes, we do. Swearing is not tolerated, nor is harrassing players/characters IC or OOC with malicious intentions. Showing a disrespect for the game or its staff is also a banable offence, as is unsuitable content. Are you and your staff mean and nasty? Nope, we're pretty tolerant, and friendly to those who are friendly back! You can chat to us on OOC or interact with our characters as you would with any other player.
