Pick a Path Round Up
A UNIQUE CHALLENGE EXCLUSIVELY AT ARABIAN NIGHTS

Arabian Nights has a unique and different style of gaming for it's players - something few RPG's have ever used, introduced in to the gaming world by AN version one. Welcome to Arabian Night's official Pick-A-Path round up.

What is it? A Pick-A-Path round up is similiar to that of a choose your own adventure book, except played interactively on our boards. When a round starts it will continue for a maximum of seven days or until a winner is decided. The basic idea of PAPRU is to be fleet of foot and mind to escape the horse hunters who persue you. You must choose between different scenarios and post with a certain number of hours or you will be captured and out of the round.

How Do I Play? Easy! An example post is below.

From the south there comes to loud whoops and hollering of the horse hunters as they relentlessly persue the herd. Dogs bark in excitement and you can feel their hot breath on your heels. Lashing out with your hind legs you charge onwards down the dry creek bed desperately seeking a quick escape. As you round a bend to your left you see is a steep bank. It's quite high and the clay crumbles away with the tremours of oncoming hoofboots. If you could get enough speed...maybe just maybe you could make it. If you misjudge you could careen straight to your death, breaking a leg or worse yet, you might get stuck in the soil becoming prey to mankind.

RUN) Do you gallop on with the rest of the herd?

or

BANK) Do you leap for the bank?

Then underneath this post you put either RUN or BANK in your subject line and if you like you can post a brief paragraph on what you're doing, but you don't have to. Just don't forget, posting something like "Shadow leapt for the bank and cleared it, running away to safety..." is not permitted. If you wish to post you may use something like. "Looking worriedly from the approaching bank to the continuing river bed, Shadow had to think quickly. At the last minute he makes a break for it, galloping towards the slope in a maniacal fashion. He leaps, tucking forelimbs underneath his chest and awaits his deciding moment..." See the difference? The second example leaves the outcome open. Open is good. Remember that.

To join a PAPRU, you must post in reply on the FIRST DAY OF IT BEING POSTED! There will be oppurtunities to join in later on in the game, but not all the time. If you are 'caught out' by making the wrong choice you get to spend the night at the ranch and you MAY NOT REJOIN the competition. Once you're out, that's it 'til the next round.

A new addition to the PAPRU game is a time limit. I know this might be difficult for some people due to time differences but if you do not post your decision within 11 to 48 hours of the next stage being posted you are automatically disqualified. The time limit will be posted in the new post, and on the news. eg: Time of post is 11:00AM 2/11/03 Arabian Nights Time. Time of next level: 1:00PM 3/11/03. As the levels progress, the shorter the time limit. Fleet of foot.....
